No, I lied...

So much for having no additional news to post.
I found out this morning that Becca Poe and Danny are no longer dating due to religious convictions. You know, God before boyfriend/girlfriend. Fortunately it wasn't a bad breakup.
On a somewhat happier note, Sarah went through the salad line ALL BY HERSELF today. Yes, she has gone her entire highschool career without purchasing lunch. So it was a new experience, and she is wiser for it.
Now I'm done...at least, I think so...

Where the giraffes are...and the ZEBRA!

Ringling Brothers is camped about a hundred feet away from my school. I'm seriously not kidding. Outside Oman Arena. Now, if you're not familiar with the geography of Madison/JCM, you have Madison, the former West Campus on the west (naturally), the Oman on the north side of the crosswalk, the vocational building farther southeast, and finally the East Campus and the Ag building to the east. And the trailers and motor homes are parked all over the parking lot surrounding Oman.
So yeah, I get to English and look out the window and I'm like, "Hey, it's the circus." How appropriate.
We finally got books in calculus and English. Psychology and sociology will have books tomorrow. I know because I carried them to the room from the bottom floor on the opposite side of the building.
Mr. Scott was in an unusually good mood, I guess because he got to show off his mathematical skills in class.
The shirt went over quite well, even the cafeteria lady that works the register asked where I'd gotten it.
I believe that's all the relevent information for today. Ta ta!

...It Could Be Raining...

Slowly age takes me. I think this has been happening slowly over the past year or two. When you leave your house with the intention of purchasing hygene products (i.e. toothpaste and deodorant) and begin to eat anything edible, you know you are becoming a "young adult." It's a pretty frightening thing. Tasty, but frightening.
So that's what I did today, not only because I needed to restock on toothpaste and deodorant, but also because I needed to break the twenty my dad had given me for food and other necessary expenses. Like my parking permit. Because the cafeteria doesn't like twentys, apparently.
But the day wasn't all mature. No, I showed Whit some of the Weebl cartoons, even the Frenchman (I warned her, but do you guys listen? Nooooo...). Oh, the joys of Kenya, Magical Trevor, and Salad Fingers!
Other than that, I napped, watched some of "When Harry Met Sally," and almost brought a stray dog home with me from church. Except he was gone when I was going to my car. I hope he goes somewhere where he can frolic like a happy, happy animal with floppy Basset-hound ears.
Well, it begins to grow late, not in my world, but in the world of "you have to go to school in the morning." So I will go iron and get ready for bed, so that I may enjoy the finer points of the Anglo-Saxons' impact on modern literature, tricky calculus, learning a tiny bit of Portuguese, and maybe something that has to do with economics. Whee.

"I shalln't play with you again until you've had a wash."

Oh, the joys of age. It appears I (and the rest of the people at my lunch table) have adopted a freshman. We shall pass on our upperclassman knowledge to her - like "don't eat meat shaped like a flower" and which teachers have odd quirks that can be exploited.
Mwahaha.
One day down, managed to receive no textbooks as there was a shortage in every class. My locker is somewhere in the vicinity of where Jimmy Warren kept some pancakes and syrup for no less than a few weeks. It was nasty, I tell you.
We had a massive "get to know your classmates" time in economics, which is good, I guess, considering that I met someone I didn't know at all and we actually got on quite amiably. So yay for not having books!
We began to calculate in calculus. Our lone junior decided that we don't bite and that it was safe to sit closer to the front of the class.
Hicks and Adrian Jones visited for a little while in chorus. Both are moving (moving back for Adrian) to college today. Also, I am Brooke Wagster's mentor for that class. I feel so old!
Anglo-Saxon studies in English. Oh, to learn about history in the British literature class!
And then it was time to party.
So I ran around the house all afternoon (except when I had to pick my sister up from cross country) getting ready to go to Whit's.
I got there after having a terrible time with traffic, only to be greeted by Miki and my birthday present. Yeah, my birthday's not until November, but she'll be gone then, so yeah. I loved it. :D I think I shall wear my new black "I went to Middle-Earth and all I got was this crummy ring" shirt Monday. It makes me happy.
We had a monster game night. Trampoline tricks that I can't do (and Drew taking out a chair...ouch), capture the flag, mafia, Taboo, and hide and go seek. You're never too old for hide and go seek.
Also fish-flavored nude soup. There is a long story that goes along with this, but I'll assume all the people that were there will remember it without me jotting it down here.
Late into the night we stayed up. Not as late as we might have, mind you, but fairly late-ish...most of us went to sleep after hearing the ghost a few times.
Sometime around 9 this morning, we woke up, had some coffee cake or doughnut holes, said goodbye to Miki (who should remember to e-mail us and whatnot), and packed our stinky selves in our cars to go home. I crashed again after I got here.
And I just woke up. Whee.
On a final note, Happy Birthday to Billy Boyd, who turns 36 today.

Perks

Well, to start off the year, the senior class had a little doughnut-and-orange-juice breakfast. At 6:30 a.m. Some of us were suspicious that it might be some horrible, horrible trick, but no, doughnuts. And then a massive group photo in front of the school. and then the informal yet essential senior procession into the auditorium (as the underclassmen looked on in awe).
Got our schedules. Mine didn't change any.
First block: economics and government with Tim Allen. No, not that Tim Allen, a different Tim Allen. One that teaches economics and government.
Second block: AP calculus I with Mr. Scott. He brought us a rock to look at. It was pretty. Should be an interesting class...
Third block: chorus. Helen was sober today, which is more than I can say for the last time I saw her.
Fourth block: English IV. Mrs. Hardin should make this an interesting class as well... So far she's quoted Chaucer and instructed us to take off our shoes and make our feet look pretty. *shrug*
Also I have received the first wave of necessary college-related paperwork. Yay.
Oh well, full day tomorrow. Must pick up some supplies. And what's better than a party at Whit's on a Friday night? Nothing. That's what! Unless it's a party at Whit's on an exam night. 'Cuz I've done that, too.

Greetings

It got lonely at LiveJournal, so here I am. Whee. Started senior year today. Again, whee. So...I guess this is the beginning of "Senior Year: Slightly Edited." Or something to that effect. So yeah. *waves to everyone* I guess I'll post little nuggets about whatever the heck I'm doing whenever something happens. But this is all for now. Byebye.
