I think someone could use a good margarita ... or at least a decent one in a novel glass.

Good evening, everyone.
The countdown to fall break has hit one week, so I guess that means I'll have to come see some of you, huh? Also I get my new computer. It needs a name, as it will be my most constant companion for at least three years.
Does everyone remember watching the Meatrix webtoon? Yeah, we definitely watched that in my ecological design class. Random moment.
But yeah, I'm enjoying a little time off after a hectic week of model-building. Only to jump back into the whirlwind of blades and glue tomorrow.
Now for the semi-regular relationship update. I'm looking forward to a visit from my yeti in about three weeks. We also talked about the possibility of traveling together in the near future, and maybe, if I decide to go for my masters degree (which would involve moving to Virginia, perhaps), having him transfer from the coast to wherever I end up. Same logic applies to my internship, too. Not bad for a guy who didn't think he could handle a long-distance relationship and still has trouble planning things more than a day in advance.
And today I'll leave you with this: every night there is at least one new cricket hopping around my room. On the third floor. Hooray, determination.

Making American history fun for everyone

Okay, so Philadelphia ...
It's big. If you're ever in the area (hey, it could happen), just grab a cheese steak and be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. Hiking 20 blocks in heels is a bad idea.
So Tuesday night, while my roommates were taking a side trip to New York - and no, I didn't want to pay $40 and sit on a bus for five hours to be able to walk around Times Square for a little while - I found a group going to a nice local Italian restaurant. I mean frou-frou. We were fortunate enough to schedule our trip during Restaurant Week. Three courses of enviably delicious food for $30 at a bunch of nice restaurants.
I told Dennis about my meal - grilled calimari, ribbon pasta with sauteed rabbit in red wine sauce, and cheesecake drizzled with strawberry sauce - and his response was "I hate you, absolutely hate you :p I've always wanted to try rabbit,
good choices on the food, I'm having an effect on you."
Rabbit is tasty.

How do you actually cook a cheese steak?

Hello, to all the beautiful, intelligent, and smartly dressed people who occasionally pay attention to my ramblings. I hope everyone is reasonably well today.
Labor Day weekend was very nice, but far too short, in my opinion. Dinner with Dennis's parents went well, no embarrassing questions or particularly awkward moments to speak of. The hotel wasn't spectacular, but it was better than one would expect after getting torn up in a hurricane. In fact, Dennis didn't really want to leave after dropping me off each night. *ahem*
And I didn't get lost. Not even when I had to drive over to Louisiana to go shopping. Yay, pants!
So yeah, once Dennis gets his own place, I'll definitely be making the trip more often. :)

But that's not all! Next week I'll be in Philadelphia with the architecture clique, going "ooh" and "ahh" and possibly trying to run up the art museum steps like Rocky at least once. We'll see how that goes ...

Now I'm done.
